At the Niskayuna Co-op, dairy means more than just milk!
The Niskayuna Coop dairy department offers a fantastic selection of some of the best national and local dairy products from farms like Mohawk Dairy and Battenkill Valley Creamery. To keep prices competitive and the products as fresh as possible, milk is delivered to the Niskayuna Co-op six times per week. The Co-op dairy shelves are a showcase for both the breadth and depth of the local dairy farming community.
We carry everything from daily milk to seasonal cheeses and local handmade specialty products like kefirs and a full selection of soy milk and dairy products. Our yogurt selection features many of the national names you know like Stonyfield and Dannon as well as a carefully handpicked selection of top quality local handmade yogurts—many of which have been recognized in the New York and national press. Yogurts from small batch farms such as Cowbella in the Schoharie Valley, Argyle Cheese Farmer in Washington County and Chobani in Western New York form the heart of our impressive yogurt selection. Cheeses from Cappiello in Schenectady, McCadam in Chateaugay, and Cabot in Vermont represent just a few of the fine cheeses that the Co-op carries. The eggs from Eight-Mile Creek in Westerlo, NY are some of the prettier and best tasting eggs that can be bought in the area. When you open, you’ll see a rainbow of colors in the shells and know that you’re eating eggs from free range chickens that have not been fed anything but natural grasses and feed. We care about our customers and are always willing to give new products a try.
If you’ve ever run across something at a local farm or farmer’s market and would like to see the Co-op carry it, please email our Dairy Manager Harmony Furman. Don’t be shy, tell us what you’d like on you Niskayuna Co-op dairy shelves!
